Basic Standard Drawer Options

Drawer Side Thickness

Determines the thickness of the drawer sides and the deductions from the openings when using undermount slides.

1/2" Sides
Elegant and sleek, with a thin side profile that leaves more room for side-to-side adjustment. Common for small and medium drawers.

5/8" Sides
Bold and sturdy, with maximum thickness for undermount slides. Ideal for heavy-duty drawers or deeper boxes.

Drawer Material (Species)

These determine the wood used for the drawer box sides, front, and back.

Hard Maple
The most common drawer material. Strong, durable, and light in color with a tight grain. FSC® Certified in stock and available.

Soft Maple
Similar appearance to hard maple but slightly softer. Often used as a cost-effective alternative.

Western Maple
A lighter and slightly softer maple species commonly used for drawer boxes. Slightly darker and warmer in color than regular maple. Grown in the Northwest USA. Red birch is the closest match for drawer bottoms. FSC® Certified not available.

Steamed Beech
European beech wood steamed to create a uniform pinkish brown color. Very stable and commonly used in European drawer manufacturing.

Alder
Lightweight hardwood with a warm tone and subtle grain.

Ash
Strong hardwood with a prominent light color grain pattern. FSC® Certified available by special order only; not available online.

Aspen
Light-colored hardwood with a very subtle grain pattern.

Aromatic Cedar
Naturally fragrant wood commonly used in closets and storage drawers. Usually unfinished.

Cherry
Fine-grained hardwood that darkens beautifully with age.

Red Oak
Strong hardwood with a distinctive open grain. FSC® Certified available by special order only; not available online.

White Oak
Dense hardwood with a tighter grain and higher durability than red oak. FSC® Certified available by special order only; not available online.

Rift White Oak
White oak cut for straight, uniform grain lines. FSC® Certified available by special order only; not available online.

Walnut
Premium hardwood with rich dark brown color and elegant grain. FSC® Certified available by special order only; not available online.

Birch Plywood (9-Ply / 11-Ply)
High-quality plywood used when solid wood is not required. FSC® Certified not available.

Maple Plywood (9-Ply)
Maple veneer plywood offering a consistent appearance with domestic veneers. FSC® Certified in stock and available.

Drawer Grade

Natural Grade
Contains natural color variation, mineral streaks, and occasional small knots typical of the species. Suitable for most interior cabinetry where natural character is acceptable.

Select Grade
A more consistent appearance with fewer mineral streaks and color variations. Offers a cleaner look for higher-end cabinetry.

Premium Grade
The most uniform and refined selection of material. Extra effort is placed on grain selection and color matching. Minimal color variation and defects, typically reserved for high-end or furniture-quality projects.

Finishing Options

Unfinished
Drawer ships raw and ready for finishing.

Finished
Factory-applied finish inside and outside after assembly for protection and appearance.

Pre-Finished Clear Coat
Factory-applied finish for before-assembly protection and appearance on pre-finished plywood drawers.

Premium Finish Clear Coat
Factory-applied finish with an extra coat on all sides for protection and appearance.

Custom Finish
Special finishes available upon request.

Top Edge Detail

Standard Radius Top
Standard top edge detail, recommended for all types of drawers. The fronts and backs are set at the full height of the drawer while the sides are 1/8" lower than the fronts and backs.

1/32" Offset
Top edge gets a 1/32" offset which appears nearly flush. All top edges are slightly eased and finished. The sides are set just 1/32" lower than the fronts and backs.

Flush Top
Top edge is sanded smooth, eased by hand after assembly, and the top edge is finished flush. This is the ultimate custom finished drawer; however, due to increased labor, the cost is higher.

Micro-Bevel Offset
Standard plywood top edge detail. The fronts and backs are set at the full height of the drawer while the sides are slightly lower than the fronts and backs. The top edges have a clear foil applied and a small 1/16" bevel on the top edge.

Edge Banded
Standard 5/8" birch plywood top edge detail. Edge banding is applied to the top edge.
