Waste and Recycle Drawers

Specifying a custom recycle drawer or custom waste drawer

Be prepared to answer the following questions:

  • What is the size of the opening you have to work with? Height, Width and Depth
  • Are there any obstructions such as plumbing and electrical?
  • Does the job call for side-mount, or under-mount hardware?
  • What make and model drawer slides do you want to use?
  • What size or model of bins do you want to use and how many?
  • What material do you want it made of?
  • Do you want it to hang from the top or sit on the bottom?

Once we have this information, we can look through our inventory of over a dozen different sized bins and determine the best combination for your project. For example, the designs featured below are available in several different combinations in any available material. Since we make them all custom, the number of possible combinations is almost infinite.

The large model RP-DL50 has two 50 qt bins and requires a minimum opening of:

In solid maple this unit cost is approximately $150 plus $30 for the bins and $50 for the slides.

Total including slides and bins: $230

To add a lid to the bins, add 1" to the vertical clearance and about $15/each for the lids.

The smaller version RP-DL30 has two 30 qt bins and requires a minimum opening of:

In solid maple this unit is about $135 for the drawer, plus $25 for the pair of bins and $25 for the slides.

Total including slides and bins: $185

To add a lid to the bins, add 1" to the vertical clearance and about $10/each for the lids.



Western Dovetail Ships Directly to the Customer
Completely assembled and finished drawers are shipped from Western Dovetail to any destination in the USA. Most orders ship in 5 to 7 days. Local orders can also be delivered in the company vehicle. Delivery is available for most shops in the Bay Area. Other California destinations are shipped overnight and arrive the next day. Shipments outside of California are sent via common carrier or UPS at the best possible rate.




Western Dovetail joined the early pioneers in the GREEN movement to become America's first FSC certified dovetail drawer company in 1998. Since the company began, a constant effort has been made to be responsible about the materials used and the waste that is generated. Many materials are available to make drawers that are certified meet FSC chain of custody requirements.


Drawer Tip
Inspect your drawers carefully when they arrive. Any damage from shipping must be reported immediately. Product may shift during travel and must be removed from its packaging and stacked on a flat surface to avoid warping. Drawers that are not unpacked and inspected within 1 (one) week may be VOID of Guarantee. Careful handling of your product will always give the best results.
